2010 COMMODORE SHERI LITTLE
AND FIRST GENTLEMAN RUSS LITTLE

Sheri Little became the 55th Beaufort Water Festival Commodore at a Change of Watch ceremony on July 18, 2009. She leads the 2010 Festival, along with her crew of coordinators, directors, staff and chairpersons.
Sheri, who works as a mortgage consultant for New South Mortgage, is married to Russ Little, a retired Chief Warrant Officer with the Unites States Marine Corps. They have a son, David, and a daughter, Sara.
Sheri began her Water Festival career in 2001 as the Antique Show Chairperson, under Commodore Ed Saxon. She was quickly hooked on the camaraderie shared by the festival volunteers and returned in 2002 as Community Relations Director. The following year she was Public Relations Director. Commodore Marvin Morrison invited Sheri to become a Coordinator in 2004 and put her in charge of Sponsorships. She went on to serve as a Coordinator for Sales and Admissions, Public Relations, Parks, and Productions. In 2009, Sheri became Programs Coordinator for Commodore Wilmot Schott.
A native of San Diego, Sheri and her husband arrived in Beaufort in February of 1989, after Russ received orders to MCRD Parris Island. Once the West Coast city girl overcame the culture shock of moving to a small Southern town, she found herself quite enamored of the charm and beauty of Beaufort and the Lowcountry. After three years, the Littles left for duty stations in California and North Carolina, but happily returned to Beaufort in late 1995 to make it their permanent home.
Sheri is a 2002 graduate of Leadership Beaufort and member of the Leadership Beaufort Alumni Association. She serves on the City of Beaufort's TriCentennial Celebration Committee, and has served on the Board of Directors for the Lady’s Island Business and Professional Association, worked as Membership Director for the Beaufort Regional Chamber of Commerce, and served as a volunteer for the Chamber, Main Street Beaufort and several other civic organizations.
